Few people have the opportunity to work with someone ‘remarkably efficient’ like Gabe. I had the pleasure of working with him for two years at The Home Depot, collaborating on several project teams. Gabe’s ability to handle multiple aspects of the experience was unlike any I’ve seen before and made a dramatic increase in the productivity and quality levels of any application that he touched. No matter how complex a problem, Gabe made sure to explore all possible solutions with a highly efficient design process. As a team member or a leader, any company would be lucky to have him. Gabe and I worked on a handful of Home Depot products together and he is an incredible UX designer and strategist through and through. While he will flawlessly execute on any workstream or problem space you give him, Gabe’s real value lies in guiding a portfolio level of products. He understands how to bridge teams towards a common goal and communicate that to users, IT, stakeholders, and leadership, so they understand and support the direction. He is admired and respected by all his colleagues and he is the personality that will bring life into your products and their teams.

Gabriel never ceases to surprise and impress me with every conversation we have or product we work on. The level of cleverness and clarity he brings to any circumstance is unmatched and his ability to deliver that story/perspective in a digestible way is truly inspiring. You'll routinely find him driving strategic initiatives and ensuring teams are aligned and communicating through their processes no matter how complicated. That drive in ensuring connectivity and understanding is so important in teams who are growing and innovating because collaboration is always the key. I have become a better UXer working with Gabriel and I could not be happier to have worked closely with him over the last few years. His value to any team is immeasurable.

Gabriel is an astounding leader on our UX team at The Home Depot. He has an innate ability to connect disparate experiences into seamless designs. He is constantly thinking about not only the aesthetic, but also the users experience and how they will use a product. His visual storytelling is above comparison and has proliferated to our entire UX organization. Many designers have benefited from his tutelage. One can talk about his deep technical knowledge, or his passion in teaching and learning, but what I'm here to talk about is how he inspires the greater version of you. I had Gabriel as a teacher during college and his lessons (both professionally and personally wise) inspired me to become a better version of myself.

Working with Gabriel was for me an inexhaustible source of learning. Not only does he popularize his work very well, but he is also deeply interested in the reality "on the ground" of the software on which he works.
